1️⃣ Plan and book in advance: Popular tourist attractions such as Colosseum & the Vatican museums can get crowded during the summer. Also, use Skip-the-Line Tickets to save time and avoid waiting in long queues.

2️⃣ 📸 If you want to take great pictures on most famous landmarks, you need to arrive super early (like before 7AM).

3️⃣ 🤳Stay vigilant against pickpockets: Keep an eye on your belongings, use a money belt or secure bag, and be cautious of your surroundings, especially in busy tourist spots such as Fontana di Trevi, Spanish steps, and public transportation. Be cautious of street peddlers, the most popular is a guy that approaches you and puts a bracelet on your wrist. First, it’s for free but then he wants you to pay for the bracelet.

4️⃣👮‍♂️Validate Your Train and Bus Tickets: When using public transportation, ALWAYS validate your tickets BEFORE boarding to avoid hefty fines.

5️⃣ 💦Bring a reusable water bottle. Rome has many public water fountains (nasoni) where you can refill your water bottle for free. Stay hydrated, especially during the hotter months.

6️⃣ 👗Be Mindful of Dress Codes: When visiting churches or religious sites, it's important to dress appropriately. BOTH men and women should cover their shoulders and knees. Carry a scarf or shawl to cover up if needed.

7️⃣ 📒Learn Basic Italian Phrases: Locals appreciate the effort, and it can make communication smoother, especially in smaller towns where English may be less commonly spoken. Learn a few basic Italian phrases, greet people with a friendly "Buongiorno" or "Buonasera."

8️⃣ 👟Wear comfortable shoes. The best way to explore Rome is by walking and you’ll walk ... A LOT!

9️⃣ 👩‍💻 Buy tickets from the official websites. The prices vary a lot.

🔟🏧Carry Cash: While credit cards are widely accepted, it's a good idea to carry some cash for smaller establishments, markets, or when traveling to more rural areas where card acceptance may be limited.

EXTRA TIP as one who lives in Italy:

👌 There are NO shoulder seasons, unless it's raining hailstones or floods 😅. So you WILL find crowds.
