CERVETERI HIKE.
Ciao wanderlusts, Yes, consistency is the name of the game. Today I’ll be taking you to the Cerveteri hike.
Are you a hiking or trekking lover like I? Well, you landed on the best page. I love anything outdoors that physically involves my body from just trekking, traveling, hiking, mountain climbing, windsurfing, deep-sea swimming, yeah, you get the drill. And all this I wanna do dressed fashionably because I love fashion just as much.
Brief History:
Cerveteri is a town and comune of northern Lazio in the region of the Metropolitan City of Rome. Known by the ancient Romans as Caere, and previously by the Etruscans as Caisra or Cisra, and as Agylla by the Greeks, its modern name derives from Caere Vetus used in the 13th century to distinguish it from Caere Novum (the current town).
It is the site of the ancient Etruscan city which was one of the most important Etruscan cities with an area more than 15 times larger than today’s town. The ancient city was situated about 7 km from the sea. A location which made it a wealthy trading town derived originally from the iron-ore mines in the Tolfa Hills.
The most famous attraction of Cerveteri is the Necropoli della Banditaccia, which has been declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site together with the necropolis in Tarquinia (Click this link for the Walk through the beautiful Tarquinia including visits insite the 20+ tombs and the Museum).
