How to Style a Little Black Dress (LBD).

EVERY woman needs something in her wardrobe that is classless, timeless, and ageless. And there’s probably no single item of clothing that is more useful than the little black dress. … The embodiment of sophistication, simplicity, and versatility, the little black dress is your passport to sartorial success.

Now, let’s get started! Here’s my 6 favorite ways on how to style a little black dress (LBD).

For The Office.

As you can see this little black dress is not your normal office kinda outfit. I bet no office will allow you in with the cut-outs at the waist, but I decided to put on this beautiful pink blazer jacket and wallah! You can now wear your “party” dress to work and nobody is gonna know … lol. Paired with these gorgeous heels, girl, you exude boss vibes only and everybody will take you seriously at the board room until they meet you at the clurb that evening but without the blazer …. who is the fool now …. ha! This LBD is exactly what I’d wear to work if I had plans to go out that evening without having to go home or carry extra changing clothes. In case it’s a bit cold, a pair of tights in the bag would come in handy.

Cocktails With Friends

One of my favorite things to do on the weekends (or really any day of the week) is to get together with some girlfriends and grab a drink to catch up. Back in the days when I was working in an office, meeting my girlfriends in the evening was something I’d look forward to, and of course, dressing up for the meet-up was one of the main things we looked forward to. I styled this LBD with this simple brownish long cardigan and matched it with these brown boots that I got at a throw price. Simple outfit, no??

For The Weekend

How you can usually find me on a casual day, simple and comfortable. A denim jacket with some killer biker boots is a great way to dress down just about any dress in your closet. For extra style points, add a little bandana around your neck. A moto jacket or a casual jacket on the little black dress can instantly make your outfit go from basic to fab. Pick a jacket based on the occasion.

Festival Style

This is my usual uniform for festival events especially here in Italy where they are so common and sometimes you have to take long walks or stand for too long. It’s comfortable but stylish, my go-to.  A basic white shirt and some plain white loafers just go together like peanut butter and jelly in my book. If you like you could tie a big belt at the waist or just leave the shirt to flow. I feel like it’s a never-fail combination. A white shirt and dress would be transformed from basic to glam! I also wore this shirt at the waist for that cool yet edgy look.

Happy Hour

A blue chiffon polka dot top with matching blue pumps is a great way to make this dress office-friendly that can help take you from office to happy hour and still look stylish and not like you’ve been sitting at a desk all day. Just button down any official top over this LBD and you are good for the office. When it’s time for happy hour just unbutton the top a Lil bit and tie the top at the waist for that relaxed yet stylish look. Also folding the sleeves would be good as you sip down that bubbly Prosecco.

Edgy Date Night

This is probably my signature look for going on a date. I’m in love with a fluffy mini jacket and I always like to wear some edgy boots.  Here I transformed this basic LBD into a glam outfit with just some edgy jacket and killer croc boots. Throw your hair up in a big messy topknot for an effortless edgy look. Then tell me how that date goes …
