How To Style Fall Outfits for 2020

Hello, Fall – have we been looking forward to you! For all of us here in Italy, the autumn season is the most important time of the year. True, winter has the holidays, spring brings fresh flowers, summer is all about fun in the sun, but fall has FASHION! I personally hate autumn because it’s symbolic of the beginning of cold for the next 5-6 months and by cold I mean COOOOOOOLDDDDDD!!! ……this is coming from me being born and lived most of my life on the warm East African coast but because I am a fashion lover, I’m growing to embrace it.

For as long as style has been celebrated, fall has always been the time of year when designers give it their all. Well, if you have a pretty tight clothing budget, the change in seasons might not be all that welcome. You were fine with your breezy summery dresses and sandals, so what happens when the weather starts to cool off and you’re expected to start wearing shoes again??? Beh …

Don’t fret if the changing window displays at your favorite stores remind you that you’re not ready for fall…. as I’m typing I remember Takko screaming SALDI! SALDI! but my wallet tells me to chill it a bit, lol. Well, chances are that you have the foundation for a great autumn wardrobe already in your closet. By adding a few key pieces and wearing your summer staples in different ways, you can mitigate a frugal clothing budget.
The easiest way to make your summer pieces more “fall appropriate” is to cook up new ways to wear them. Here are some of the simplest ways to stretch your wardrobe and make all your old favorites work until winter.

I’m so excited to introduce to you the Fall Style Guide! The purpose of this guide is to give you fall outfit ideas and help you improve your fall outfits.
I’ll be showing you nine categories of fall outfits (today I’m treating you to a feast of photos, 😉😉) and will show you how to take these outfits from BASIC to GLAM with just a few simple tweaks!

Basic Fall Wardrobe Items:

With these basic items, you can make several different outfits that you will be able to wear all season long.

  1. Sweater with rugged jeans

2. Add Tights

Adding tights to your outfit can be a fun way to play with pattern, color, and texture for the fall.

If you’re not into tights, try leggings. Some styles look a lot like pants but have tons of stretch. They’re perfect to wear under your summery tunics for more coverage, while still staying fashion-forward. These I got from goldenpoint store https://www.goldenpoint.com/it_it/collante-rete-micro-pois-gcd0194nc.html

3. Layer Up

Layered looks aren’t only fashion-forward – they’re also completely functional. As you layer up your summer clothes, you create new looks that will actually keep you warm in a brisk breeze.

But how do you know which looks to layer? Try this rule: Layer long over lean. This means matching up longer-length tops (think tunics or boyfriend cardigans) over leaner bottoms, such as tights or skinny jeans. This can help you extend some of your summer favorites.

The “long over lean” rule helps to avoid the bulkiness that can sometimes be a result of overenthusiastic layering.

4. BOOTS BOOTS BOOTS!

Boots are an autumn staple that easily makes all of your summer outfits warmer and you’ll extend everything from dresses to jeans to shorts.

5. Don’t Forget About Scarfs

Cozying up with a scarf is one of the easiest ways to stay warm this fall. Find a scarf that matches your outfit and wear the scarf instead of a jacket.

6. Pair a Cami & a Long Sweater

The cami is such a great transitional piece because it can be worn alone in the summertime, or paired with a sweater, leather jacket, etc. in the fall and winter.

7. Wear a Sweater Dress

Sweater dresses are my favorite fall wardrobe piece. They look adorable on their own, but they look even more stylish when paired with a sweater or jacket on top.

8. Wear a Floral Dress

I don’t think there is anything I love more than flouncy, floral dresses for fall! Florals aren’t just for spring and summer, they are also very popular in the fall. Just for the warning, don’t wear sandals like I … but again it all depends on where your autumn is …

9. Trench coat

The best part about fashion is that there are really no rules, so do whatever makes you feel comfortable ,confident and sexy!
