RASIGLIA: THE LITTLE VENICE OF UMBRIA
TUCKED AWAY among the green hills of Umbria, Rasiglia commonly called the little “Venice of Umbria”, is a medieval village dating back to the 13th century.
Let’s take a tour of the beautiful town of RASIGLIA, THE LITTLE VENICE OF UMBRIA.
From its charming medieval center to its beautiful lakes and forests, Rasiglia is a place full of history and beauty. I’ll take a tour of the town, eat some delicious local food, and enjoy some peaceful days in the picturesque town.
If you’re looking for a relaxing weekend getaway, then Rasiglia is the perfect place for you! While the centuries-old stone homes and buildings appear as though they’re frozen in time, the town is constantly in motion; small streams rush through the village, looping around centuries-old homes and stone buildings.
Thanks to the waters, it was once an important center for the production of wool and for the dying plants. After the second world war, the factories were moved to the biggest towns in the surrounding. Nowadays the village counts just about 40 inhabitants.
